World Bank Calls for Nigeria to sustain removal

The World Bank recently urged Nigeria to maintain its policy on removal of fuel subsidies and not reverse its current reforms.

Qatar has cut fuel subsidies, increasing the price of gasoline by 30 per cent, according to the state-owned Qatar News Agency (QNA).

The government has not said how much money it expects to save through the subsidy cut.

Qatar’s fuel price hike comes after similar measures in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Oman.

After recent developments, the Social Support Program will provide 85% fuel subsidy for lower-income individuals in the UAE on fuel pricing of more than AED 2.1/litre.
