Graduates to opt for courier delivery as an alternative to in-person collection - University of IIorin

The University of Ilorin has introduced a new system allowing graduates to receive their unclaimed certificates through courier services, the institution’s Registrar, Mr. Mansur Alfanla, announced on Monday.

“The new system allows graduates to opt for courier delivery as an alternative to in-person collection. This marks a significant departure from the university’s previous policy, which prohibited third-party collection of certificates,” Alfanla stated in the new announcement.

He outlined the requirements for graduates opting for courier delivery, noting that applications must include the original statement of result, a court affidavit, an indemnity form, and an international passport for those residing abroad.

The memo also warned that “graduates who fail to meet this deadline will incur a fine of N3,000 per week before they collect their certificates.”

Alfanla explained that the initiative aligns with international best practices and aims to improve convenience for the university’s alumni.

For those who prefer in-person collection, certificates will be available at the university premises between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., Monday to Friday.

“This development is particularly beneficial for graduates residing outside the country, as it eliminates the need for them to travel to Ilorin,” Alfanla added.

The university had previously issued a memo dated December 18, 2024, advising all graduates to collect their certificates by January 17, 2025.
