Nigeria was on Thursday plunged into darkness as the country’s national grid collapsed again.

DAILY POST reports that the bulk power supply was disrupted around 11:20am on Thursday.

This was confirmed on X by Nigeria National Grid via @NationalGridNg

It tweeted: “BREAKING: Another Grid Setback Experienced.”

This is the second time the grid has collapsed this week and the twelveth time in the last eleven months.

The development has stirred mixed reactions on social media among Nigerians.

Meanwhile, the Transmission Company of Nigeria has not issued an official statement on the reason the grid collapsed again on Thursday.

However, recall that TCN blamed the grid collapse on lines and generator trips on Tuesday.

This comes as the Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu on Wednesday received an investigative report on the incessant grid collpase in Nigeria. Although, the details have not been unveiled to the public.

This is the second time the grid has collapsed this week and the twelveth time in the last eleven months.

The development has stirred mixed reactions on social media among Nigerians.

Meanwhile, the Transmission Company of Nigeria has not issued an official statement on the reason the grid collapsed again on Thursday.

Nigeria has once again been thrown into darkness following the collapse of the national power grid.

This marks the second outage in a single week and the 12th within the last 11 months, deepening concerns over the country’s ongoing power stability issues.

The Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company (IKEDC) confirmed the latest collapse in a message to customers.

The DISCO said: “Please be informed that we experienced a system outage today, 07 November 2024, at 11:29 hiours, affecting supply within our network.”

IKEDC assured customers that efforts to restore power are underway in collaboration with key stakeholders, though no timeline was provided.

“Restoration of supply is ongoing. Kindly bear with us,” the company added.
